Do Delta pilots ever volunteer to sit in the FA jumpseat to get an offline pilot home?
I feel like I do that a lot at 9E but every time I’m waiting next to the gate for a Delta flight in uniform on a full flight and praying people don’t show up I see a Delta pilot who listed online blow by and not even make eye contact.
I know it’s not ideal but a flight from NYC to Bos isn’t really that long to help a commutter out.
Yep, some birds are better than others of course. I've done it but being the aft lav attendant on the MD series is about much fun as it sounds

Strike up a conversation if you can, never hurts to get the discussion going so we know you're there, gate agents don't always understand multiple jumpseats or have the time to care.
