As far as the eye contact thing, they may be tired and not even see you. Engage and you may be surprised with the results.
I had a regional friend tell me about our supposed reputation for not making eye contact walking through the halls. I'm a friendly guy, and I always say hi or smile and wave and never gave it a second thought.... so I paid attention my next trip as to my contact with other pilots. I was 0 for 6 with any regional guys responding to my smile and nod or even wave at them. Goes both ways....
LOL, same here. When I was an RJ guy I remember getting snubbed by 4 DL guys in a row standing in the coffee line at O'hare. Does make you wonder sometimes. Decided if I made it here I'd try to change that image so I keep up my friendly nods/waves/smiles as I always have.
