As far as the eye contact thing, they may be tired and not even see you. Engage and you may be surprised with the results.

I had a regional friend tell me about our supposed reputation for not making eye contact walking through the halls. I'm a friendly guy, and I always say hi or smile and wave and never gave it a second thought.... so I paid attention my next trip as to my contact with other pilots. I was 0 for 6 with any regional guys responding to my smile and nod or even wave at them. Goes both ways....

Yep, I have noticed this also. I always nod and say Hi to other Pilots walking through the terminal. Its not just a DAL thing, its a Pilot thing. I would say that less than 1/3 Pilots even look up or acknowledge you.
