You could do it in half the price if you are proficient and do most of your own studying.
The CFII is super easy once you have your CFI and should not involve more than a handful of sim sessions and a couple of flights if you are proficient in instructing and instruments.
I did my CFII, ME, and MEI for all under $7000 combined.
