It shouldn't have any impact on you, until it does. Basically, the SLG should build lines in seniority order, giving people their "best fit" lines in seniority order. But as it gets lower and lower down the list (more and more junior), there may come a point where it can't make someone a legal line with what it has left in the open time pool. In that case, it should work its way up "adjusting" peoples line (giving them something less desirable) in order to free up trips to make more lines.

I would imagine "line constraints" refers to what is required for the "Global Solution". Meaning that even if you are the top VTO holder, if they need that requested trip to build to a certain credit hour for someone below you, no matter how far below you, tough luck.
I think this is what essentially happened to me. The "line constraint" that got me was my number one preference. I wanted the first week of the month off. I think there were so many trips in open time in the first week (due to CIC, etc.), the SLG realized that if it gave me the first week off, there would be too many trips left in the pool that wouldn't be covered. So, it had to assign me a trip that week in order to assure coverage of all the flying.
