But I agree with freezingflyboy, whats wrong with a little extra space? Will the larger bag really not fit? According to Jeppesen, the difference between the two bags is 1" (in width?).

6 binder 12" x 9" x 18"

4 binder 12" x 8" x 18"


edit: Or I could just wait to get to ground school in two weeks, find out what I will REALLY need, and decide then :P
