I was hired in March and I had to do all the tests and the sim. I studied the cheat sheet and it made no difference. I read the IFR oral guide on my way up there to brush up on everything and aced the tests and had a coffee break while everyone was still in there taking it. Had I not randomly found my IFR oral guide while unpacking a box I probably would have spent the whole time in there on those tests. Half the things they asked left me sitting there wondering who really cares. I mean when's the last time ATC asked you to do a DFsteer?

I'd stay away from that gouge. Almost nothing in it was in my tests. Just hit the IFR oral guide/ATP oral guide and you'll ace them.

So wait........you say stay away from the gouge and just study the IFR oral guide but then the gouge comes from the IFR oral guide?????? Just wondering what advice it is you are giving for the perspectives......
