I started UPT in May 1998 with no previous flying experience other than 50 hours and a PPL. I started at UPS in the spring of 2005. In between I flew a lot of KC-135 sorties all around the world. BT told me that what made my resume stand out was the 128 combat sorties. He was an AF heavy pilot and he likened my experience in Iraq to his in Vietnam. And no I am neither a minority nor a chick.
So it's favoritism then isn't it? I am not sure what's worse...affirmative action (minority or chick, your words) or favoritism towards people with similar experiences as the HR guy.
Also, I am sure your combat flying is really relevant in the civilian airline world, too. Yeah man, you are over-qualified.
