Most of the guys hired in 2006 were under the "old" minimums of 1500TT/300ME. I believe somewhere around October/November/December they lowered them to 1000TT/100ME.

You need at least 2500TT in order to upgrade in addition to the ATP mins. Someone with an ATP or meeting ATP mins that has below 2500TT would not be eligible for upgrade. It may be the reason this award went so junior as a friend of mine couldn't bid for this slot since he didn't have 2500TT. If it happened to him, I'm sure it happened to others as well.

When I got hired I figured a 2 year upgrade at least. I was wrong by about 6-9 months on the good side. Figure at least a 2 year upgrade here. Keep in mind that a lot of hiring occurred between Aug 06 - right now. Between me and the most junior captain before this award was over a year...however it was only about 250 numbers on the seniority list and the majority of those guys were J4J (i.e. not taking any upgrade). Between me and the most junior pilot at the company is a couple months over a year but over 800 numbers on the seniority list. It's a big difference.

Edit - In terms of upgrade though, ToiletDuck was closer than any of our guesses as to when people would upgrade. I don't think it'll stay as junior as this bid went...but I would consider his opinion since he was almost dead-on this time around.
