What’s with LHR? You leave the hold and VS it down there. Never seen a problem with that. The Speed issue to 4 DME on the other hand...🙄
You too can be protected while using FLCH or V/S. Just put the next intervening altitude in the MCP. Guys who use FLCH or V/S with the bottom altitude or TDZE set are asking for trouble.
