Now that the CRJ is going to be around ANOTHER 1.5 - 2 yrs. Would be a no brainer decision to have one, and it would be nice for those 1st time upgrades already typed and experienced on it plus 50hrs IOE, makes for an even safer, and more efficient operational transition. The irony of how some management folks point fingers behind closed doors that Line Pilots are inefficient, costly, and wasteful. Each fleet type should have a Qualified Upgrade program in place at a time when there is CA shortage. Just my 2 cents. We all want the best for this company.
The future of a CRJ QU program has never been shot down as a definite no. Unfortunately, not too many students would qualify to attend a CRJ QU so as to get enough data for a SGT. This last bid might make a difference, we'll see.
