I really don't understand the feeling of being "trapped." It's silly. We are all free to make the best choices for ourselves and our families. If you think there is a job that fits you better, I highly encourage you to pursue it. Life is too short not living up to your full potental.
Queue- if you really view the pilot group (and JetBlue as a whole) with such distain? I'm not entirely convinced you are a JetBlue Pilot, but if you are a Jetblue Pilot and you think we are "like a regional to get to the legacies," why not just quit and go to a legacy?
I get that you're trying to stir the pot and try and get the group angry and affect change. But honestly, do you hear your self talk? Lots of hyperbole. And if you really are this angry and have distain for this pilot group, why not quit (assuming you actually work here?) Honest question. While I deeply disagree with your arguments and the way you just attacked the group, you aren't stupid. So why not make a change and live the life you want at the job you want?
Edit: to be clear. I am a yes voter, and no I don't have a regional mentality. I simply think voting yes wins us more than voting no.

The TA doesn't lead in any way whatsoever. It's not even catching up to where we ought to be. The pay isn't even at SWA levels and the rules are full of legal loopholes for BJ to exploit. Where is the hyperbole? I only get that from the Yes voters who are scared of turning down the first girl they meet because they don't see their whole life ahead of them. TA 2 can be brought to the table overnight and expedited simply by putting together more informational pickets. Remember that BJ can't plan their new fleet and EU strategy if they don't know the cost of pilots, or else they will have to explain further failures at investor meetings. They have incentive to settle quickly. If we raise the white flag now we will simply get a contract that is only 2% more than Zero, but more dangerous than the PEA. What is the logic of being so desperate to get *any* contract, no matter how bad it is? How can you possibly know if we can't get a better contract without even trying?
This is not about me. I'm not trapped at BJ nor am I trapped being an airline pilot - I'm flying airplanes for fun. However, I do believe in making it a better place than the legacies because as a leader I've always demanded excellence. The problem is that low standards are no way to achieve that - we can't keep getting stepped on by BJ and by people who simply don't know better. We have a great community which I do not credit BJ for. I don't have a disdain for the pilots per sey, but I do abhor their malleable defeatist attitudes (read: they can change from the dark side of the force). Imagine if we tried to win a war with BJ pilots - they would surrender before the bullets started to fly. How can we ever be winners if we give up so easily?
