The frontier route network has evolved into something drastically different than JB’s. If the merger were to happen JB wouldn’t be able to continue a lot of those routes under the JB brand. JB would essentially be dismantling frontier just to gain access to the planes and redeploy them on more traditional JB routes. Wall Street already doesn’t like our growth. That would basically just be adding growth.
A merger with Alaska would make way more sense and personally I think it’s coming if United doesn’t make a play on JB first. My guess is an Alaska codeshare is signed within a year and a merger happens the next time the economy take a dump.
