Yes, we have a FAA approved program for people with CL-65 type ratings for a shorter course but the company has not actually used it. So currently all new hires still get the full training.
Training has also found that holding a CL-65 type and be EDV proficient are not mutually exclusive. More then one person with 1-10 years CL-65 experience struggled with ground school and sims.
