I ended up buying a Bluetooth speaker while in training, but if you have one, think about taking it or something similar for entertainment. Not sure I would take a game consol as it will distract you.

I'm not sure how they exactly have it itineraried now with the home self study, but pack for your entire training footprint unless you know for sure that the company will be sending you home. I would not plan on trying to jump seat home at all.

You can check baggage on your flights to/from training for free, Two I believe.
