So what does a typical new hire out of training schedule look like. Is there a mix of Hot reserve, short call, and long call? I was given CJO by PSA and GoJet (not going there) and had been planning on PSA since I live about 2 hours from CLT, in southern VA. I just got my phone interview scheduled for Monday and now I am considering EDV. Seems people are pretty satisfied in both regionals. The big tradeoff, EDV pays better but requires me to commute.
If a new hire is long call reserve then it's no big deal but if I have 19 days a month of short call or hot reserve then that changes things a bit. Not sure I want to live over half a month in a crash pad or whatever. My sister lives in southern CT so that may be an option to share a room in her place but that is about 1.5 hour drive to the NYC airports, so short reserve may work in that respect.
Please help understand expected reserve schedule of a newby out of training.
