It’s a possibility.
We are being told that they are replacing CRJ-700s. If they are replaced by the carrier that currently operates the CRJ-700s on a 1:1 basis, that leaves:
Mesa with exactly 20 CRJ-700s
Skywest with 19 CRJ-700s putting the company 1 airframe over scope - they are already 2 airframes over scope.
GoJet with 25 CRJ-700s a net loss of 5 airframes. GoJet and Compass are owned by Trans States Holding.
It looks like it’s 1 of the 3 plausible options IF they’re going to the Carrier who currently operates the RJs that are being retired.
A thousand things can change between now and then though. It wouldn’t surprise me if a different carrier gets them. Also wouldn’t shock me if they ordered SNB at United and these don’t replace anything and just become growth.
