Sick calls/reliability is *probably* only going to be visible to a major if your regional is owned by that major or has flow (or possibly some sort of preferential interview arrangement).
One exception: PRIA does not normally show discipline related to NON-FLYING issues, such as reliability, haircut, shave, etc. But if you get fired for anything, I believe PRIA can show the cause (ie "reliability" in the case of sick calls).
Fundamentally there is nothing illegal about sharing such info if there is a business relationship where that was agreed to (ie flow/pref interview). If the union agreed to it, than it's 100% legal.
If there's no such relationship, then any professional organization with an HR dept. (such as a 121 regional) would be on very thin legal ice sharing any sort of personal info other than dates of employment and re-hire eligibility. Note that mom-and-pop 91/135 will not necessarily be very professional, and if you pizz them off they might well burn you to the ground on any reference call... consequences be damned.
But regarding the family re-union... three sick calls in less than a year is "probably" the threshold for additional scrutiny at "most" regionals.
If you call in again and you're not actually sick they might start looking at your non-rev, KCM, and jumpseat history. I would also try really hard not wind up on anybody's facebook or really in any photos that show you not sick. Your degree of paranoia should depend on what you know about your employer's past behavior.
