How United Alpa approach your MEC to get the 20 700s
New to United, as a matter fact first 70 seaters as United Express, on their seniority and tag the pilots to the bottom of their list, problem was united had furlough pilots and they would have been captains on those 20 frames and MAG pilots FOs, but hey on the United seniority
Fact, it was entertained, some lifers did not want to lose the 70 seat pay.
Learn the history of your union at MAG or ask
So, the United pilot union failed in 2003 to bring 70 seaters in-house from Mesa. Now, the United pilot union would need to approach RAH, SKW, and Mesa to do the same thing with 70 and 76 seaters today.
Maybe, United’s Ejet order is just a negotiating tactic, but United’s management is clear with the E175SC order of 25 Ejets: Regional partners will be flying them as they replace CRJ700’s. I am suspicious our 20 700’s will also be replaced at some point.
We all know our union has shortcomings. Why don’t you give us the last name of the rep from 2003 that turned down the deal? That way we can all ask him what happened.
