It is my understanding that the A7s are actually 4 trips, not necessary two round trips. Just wondering if this is the case and if anyone has done this. Looking at trip costs for non-revs to/from Europe, the expense is coming back to US, not going to Europe. My thought is this: D1 out and A7 back. I can get an extra trip out of my remaining ticket pair and not have to pay taxes on a non rev trip.
Am I missing something with the way taxes are paid on the D1/D2 trips? I have only viewed a few locations. Also not sure if I can split the A7s that way.
Works exactly as you say. WE are a family of 4. We did D1 to Europe. Then A7 back. You pay international taxes on the way back, free going. BTW, not sure if this is the case with all countries, but only the adults in our family were charged the international taxes.
