If the union hasn’t already started talking to company about life after LOA 4 then they’re late. I haven’t read anything in the communications about it.
This is incorrect, the company can't pay more than the contract rates without a LOA (which expires in December 2019). The contract is up for renegotiation around that time as well so its extremely unlikely this LOA will get extended. Contracts can take months, sometimes years to finalize through many meetings with the Union and company.
Its not up to the Union to open contract talks early, that's all on the company.
