Just because I probably
could have gone to MIT doesn't mean I wanted to go there, and since I had no intent of going there I didn't apply.
The same is true for employment. I won't apply anywhere I couldn't see myself staying until retirement. That was true when I was seeking a job at a regional and holds true for the (hopefully) final next step.
I'm sure some people just throw an app at every place and see what sticks. That's why I appreciate when companies run their own career page instead of using airlineapps. The recruiters know a candidate is genuinely interested in their company.
