My wife gave me a birthday surprise 2 years ago consisting of a mystery trip...somewhere..."pack your bags for an overnight, we're going to the airport". I didn't know where we were going until she handed me the boarding pass - we flew down to Dulles early one Saturday and I spent all day in the gigantic candy store of the Dulles annex (Udvar-Hazy museum) of the NASM, followed by Ethiopean dinner in Adams Morgan neighborhood in DC.

The Dulles hangar is not to be missed - the collection goes all the way from Rutan homebuilts right up through the Concorde, Space Shuttle (the real thing, we don't need no steenking mockups). Best birthday present ever!
