Maybe USaiways(USAPA) and AWA(ALPA) can get together and hand a new proposals over to the company and subcontract pilot staffing. That way they could manage staffing levels, advancement, basing, pay for training, moves, benefits, erasing retirement funds, who can wear 4 stripes, whether it's "Cactus" or "US Air" regardless of the paint scheme, etc., seperately. That's pretty much how it's working now, right??? Two seperate airlines???

Or better yet,..

Each "Union" gets to put their pilots into any seat/aircraft position that they feel is appropriate based on career progression or DOH. The company agrees to pay each plot based on that 'mold'. Then the company can put the bodies into the slots that it actually needs. I think that would settle all of the compensation gripes out there. (Although the next round would be QOL whining...) Until the company went out of business and those pilots no longer had jobs. Then they would blame the management.

If they can't see history repeating itself and they continue down this road, I say adios. As someone said earlier, the only ones that win in a labor dispute, even if the company dies, are the lawyers and upper management.
