Let’s assume he’s a 12yr captain. (He’d need to be even more senior to really earn but that’s the top rate. Plus if he’s 40 there’s no way he’s very senior as a captain) That means his pay rate is $224.80. $400,000 / 224.80 = 1,779.36 trips for pay he needs to credit. That’s 148.28 trips per month. Even if he ONLY flew premium trips (1.5 x pay), he’d need to be flying around 14-15 days a month.

Those calculations don’t factor in vacation or profit sharing or 401k contributions from the company, but I don’t need to factor them in to say it’s absolute bull**** that anyone can make that much flying one trip a month. Not even remotely close.
