I’d add as we are now going to flight 20/20 and best practices, I would not be shocked to see the 737&airbus, go to how LUS and AWA did quals. There’s no reason to make it as long and drawn out as we do currently. Add to it the savings AA will see i would not bet against it changing to how LUS and AWA did it soon.
We know how you feel about all things LAA. Wasn't this already covered on C&R? Some of the places we go it's better to have more than a "basic" international qualification.
