I had to tell him to either take it off, and listen up the first time. This was the 777 BTW, not really any noise to speak of anyway.
And for god's sake, if you do use your own head set, put the company one back when you are done, please!!
Sorry Dave I’ll disagree. Used my Telex 850 on the 777. Yes with one ear slightly uncovered. The only guy saying “huh” was the rest of the crew that couldn’t understand the foreign ATC controller......
Wear it now on the 737 and works just as well whether hot mic or one ear slightly uncovered.
FWIW, Telex just redesigned the headset to the Telex Airman 8. Lots of improvements and no increase in price.
As for the ship headset, I’ll unplug it to put my headset jacks in. I don’t want to handle that mini tel any more than that. You can plug it back in on your own. I promise I won’t hide it. You will be putting your ear piece on it anyway so you can plug it in then.
