Wear it now on the 737 and works just as well whether hot mic or one ear slightly uncovered.

FWIW, Telex just redesigned the headset to the Telex Airman 8. Lots of improvements and no increase in price.

As for the ship headset, I’ll unplug it to put my headset jacks in. I don’t want to handle that mini tel any more than that. You can plug it back in on your own. I promise I won’t hide it. You will be putting your ear piece on it anyway so you can plug it in then.

I'm sure the way you work it is just fine. No worries. This guy was not. I do use an ear plug in the non-telex ear, so I'm not a mumbler, and speak plenty loud enough normally even for the bunkies to hear. Yes, hearing is important, but you still have to function as a crew member. It's more than a CLR issue.
