The “it’s my turn, that’s not how I did it, or that’s not fair” mentality that some people have isn’t going to go far. Once you meet the minimum standards your name is thrown into the same hat. This guy may not have had a 20 year military career or have been a jet captain for the last 10,000 hours, but he did meet the minimum requirements. He’s going to be put in a class, he’s not going to be given any slack, and he will most likely do a good job and enjoy a great career. He didn’t endure years of paying dues like many of us did but life doesn’t always fit your definition of fair. I say good for him. If I had been given the chance when starting out I would have jumped at it and avoided some pain. It’s not like he crossed a picket line to get the job. As far as I’m concerned his integrity is intact.
