7 of the 9 went to different categories (via their "MD") other than than the ones they were holding prior to their March 350B AE award. Whether they went via MD or 22.E.15, the result is the same - they were bounced from the category by MDs. Further, those positions were not "rebid" in July, the company posted the remaining 35-ish FO vacancies to get the category to the desired 200 pilots per seat.
However, if the Company did "cancel" their AE as you said, 22.E.16 would take effect but that wasn't how it played out. Further, two of those elected to return to the 350 category in the July AE via 22.F.12 which is available to those who are MD'd, not those who have their AE cancelled.
All of the FO’s in question had not started training. The critical shortage has been Captains not FO’s.
