It’s visual, we are using references outside the aircraft, not poking holes through butts without charts and approval. Having this backup seems to be far safer than not. Or just keep getting EGPWS alerts and using less accurate methods?
If you're talking about the LAS stuff on comply, I'm pretty sure they just mean do not use that specific RNAV visual until it is approved by the FAA. Not that you can never use an RAV as a backup to a visual.
