And some of us realize we have no say in aircraft orders and or access to the deals and cost-benefit analysis that drive our aircraft purchases. If you honestly think our management is stupid enough to randomly purchase aircraft without significant analysis, you probably ought to go to Delta, because United won't last until your retirement. When it comes to operational issues, pilots have a lot of expertise. When it comes to the business side of running an airline... not so much. Yes, from a pilot's perspective the 737-900 ER sucks (haven't flown the Max, but I expect more of the same). Our management obviously thinks it makes sense from a business perspective.
