Pre merger, both companies were unique in that they only had one base in an isolated area of the country. So pilots from the local area could apply and be guaranteed they would be based where they live.
Now that has changed, with flying in MIA and LRD.
If you get hired now, very likely you start in MIA or LRD.
Unfortunately for pilots in HI, only place left that guarantees you are based at home is Ohana.
