That's not what I'm talking about. The minimum scheduled rest for a split duty is 3 hrs. Last I did split duty ops, the company was providing an extended duty "buffer" before the rest period to account for delays and transportation but was always giving more than 3 hrs of scheduled rest, usually in the 4-4.5 hr range IIRC. Other companies are only scheduling the minimum 3 hrs with a duty buffer going as long as they can get before needing to duty the crew on again for transport back to the airport. That is a 1-1.5 hr extra amount of delay they can take vs what was at least then the company practice.
