Is SEA or PDX possible right out of training? From what I've heard Alaska seems like a good place to be, but I see a lot of grumblings here with regards to the relationship with mgmt, the contract and job security. Although, I see those same complaints just about everywhere on this site😁 Is the job worth a move across the country? Any info would be appreciated.
Honestly, why would you sell yourself short. The grumblings on here aren't just a bunch of disgruntled pilots. This place blows, period. Alaska is NOT a good place to be, it's a major compromise with your career.

The only people who are happy here are the senior Koolaid rah-rah pilots who live in base. Everyone else I have talked to thinks this place is a huge pile. Let's see, you are going to move for a job that entails; horrible schedules (unless you are senior), ZERO flexibility with your schedule (line bidding), wacky vacation rules, NO SCOPE, seriously hostile management, less than industry stand pay, no growth plans... I could go on for an hour.

If you want the most evidence on why not to come here, find someone to give you our recent ALPA production about career progression. Don't be blinded by the pay numbers because once that new pay rate feeling wears off, you'll realize you made a huge mistake coming here. You are seriously settling for less if you decided to come to Alaska. Do yourself a favor and hang in there and wait for a real major airline.
