The only people who are happy here are the senior Koolaid rah-rah pilots who live in base. Everyone else I have talked to thinks this place is a huge pile. Let's see, you are going to move for a job that entails; horrible schedules (unless you are senior), ZERO flexibility with your schedule (line bidding), wacky vacation rules, NO SCOPE, seriously hostile management, less than industry stand pay, no growth plans... I could go on for an hour.

If you want the most evidence on why not to come here, find someone to give you our recent ALPA production about career progression. Don't be blinded by the pay numbers because once that new pay rate feeling wears off, you'll realize you made a huge mistake coming here. You are seriously settling for less if you decided to come to Alaska. Do yourself a favor and hang in there and wait for a real major airline.
