Not a single former Frac pilot turned major airline pilot I know is clamoring to go back to 91k/135. That includes former G pilots and not just Phenom FO’s.
You simply do not understand how hard you’re working, how much responsibility is being put upon you, how Mickey Mouse your work rules are, and how unprotected/insecure your seniority number is until you leave for the majors.
The Frac lifestyle is for some people, and some will prefer it. But stop trying to compare the two. Because you truly don’t know. You can talk 5 star meals and bag on running to gates, but I can very easily point out cleaning lavs, rolling rest and 10/24 warnings.
And know this too, even a lowly ULCC Captain (yes even Frontier when their contract goes through) makes more than Global and G captains at a place like Flexjet, and they don’t have to be flexible with the rules to ensure their bonus.
So if Frac life is right for you then have at it. I certainly enjoyed much of what I did. But the truth is that you don’t know. And it shows.
I commuted for 7 years at a regional and then a low cost carrier. Every second of it sucked. Money isn’t on the top of my list, so I don’t Chase the coin. Your argument of 121 making more
Isn’t challenged by anyone, so not sure why you’re stressing that. Though I do know red label challenger and legacy guys that brought home around $250K-$300K working 15-18 day months.
To touch on your point...I have had one 10/24 warning in 2018, I’ve never cleaned a lav and I never will, and my rest is always ample...maybe I’m lucky ☺️ Work rules are horrible??? Not sure what you mean there, we have a pretty good life here. And I don’t have to waste money on a union that provides nothing.
