I'm sure it felt good to brag to your buddies at the bar and made your chest puff out a little but stuff like this is the bad press this company needs to avoid. Go ahead and read some of the comments on the twitter link.
Our reputation ain't the greatest. We need to be better than the rest. Not pulling dumb stunts like this. I'm sure it WAS a relatively smooth ride above the bad stuff, but you must consider the OPTICS when you make decisions like this. It looks bad. It looks scary. And passengers don't understand it. The general public doesn't think like we do, and the mainstream media is always looking for an excuse to hang the airlines. Especially this one. Stop giving them reasons.
Let's be safe and smart out there. Any airline is only one incident away from shutting down and putting a lot of great people out of work.
