Both my new hire type oral (2013) and my Upgrade oral (2017) covered almost every button on the overhead panel. "What happens if you push it?" and "What does the fault light mean?" Not ball buster instructors, just standard oral stuff.
In new hire I was able to download the AOM vol 1 to the hotel computer and then printed out every page that showed the buttons on the panel and what each light means. You can do this at home, library, or overnight hotel using Print Page, I assume. It's about 30 pages or so. (I'm old school in that I prefer studying off of paper.)
It's my most valuable study aid and I go over it before very training event.
