Captjns...

What could the IPA do to help the challenge air pilots? UPS wanted the route authority to SA. Challenge had no aircraft of their own and UPS felt it didn't need additional pilots. They have historically been behind the hiring curve and this time was no different.

Are you suggesting that the IPA should have demanded that the CAC pilots be hired as a part of the deal even though there were no airplanes to put them in? The IPA can look out after mergers but when all they buy is route authority, there is nothing that the union can do to bring on pilots that the company feels it doesn't need in the first place.

You can place blame where you want....but the IPA had no standing in the CAC purchase. I felt bad for the CAC guys as well, but there was nothing that we could do about it.
