No airline "blacklists" candidates because a single line pilot has a personal axe to grind. Stay professional, if it comes right down to it, apologize profusely, hand them a copy of whatever statement UAX come's up with, and go about your business.

But professional in this case means you do need to have an apologetic face-to-face discussion with someone you deny. If they get denied by the gate, they won't even know why.
