We’ve become much more unsafe, but congrats!
Am I the only one that sees the dark irony in congratulating our labor groups for pointing out how unsafe our airline has become?
It’s not our participation percentages that have increased, but instead it’s the snowballing amount of serious safety issues. We’re going to kill some people, it’s Allegiant 2.0. Operating just barely within the visible confines of the law, primed for a major accident.
The message from the ASAP manager in the latest Frontier safety beacon publication:
“A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE!
Thank you to everyone who has participated in ASAP this
year! We are very appreciative of the amazing amount of sup-
port we have had thus far from our Pilots, Flight Attendants,
Dispatchers, Mechanics, and Maintenance Controllers in the
effort to address critical safety issues.
Reporting rates have significantly increased in compari-
son to last year’s reporting rate for all four employee groups.
In comparing the 12-month rate in 2017 to the 8-month rate
for this year, Maintenance has had the largest increase in
ASAP reports per 10,000 flights with an increase of 128%,
followed by dispatch 64%, Pilots 59%, and Flight Attendants
54%. The overall reporting rate for all ASAPs have in-
creased by 76% since last year! This is great news as every
report provides valuable information that may not otherwise
be obtainable.“
