No one here knows what exactly will unfold base or fleet wise in the next year. Even during the internal pilot chats led by management types the picture is foggy at best. My advice is if you want to fly and make progress in your career, just choose the first class opening. If you’re looking for any other base than SEA that Horizon offers, choose the Q. Don’t overthink the situation, just get in the door and start gaining experience. To be honest, as a pilot typed in both planes the Q teaches one a lot more lessons than the jet, but you get the occasional cheese platter or first class meal in the jet so it’s a tough choice...

Now I may be jaded from previous experience but... If you live in the PDX area and think a commute to SEA is easy because of the frequency and choose the jet, you’re in for a rude awakening. Many commuters and lots of flow issues these days, don’t add more stress to an already stressful phase of your career if possible
