I like the current DAL Procedures. Ramps are usually a mad house(especially ATL) so I wait til on the taxiways before calling for taxi checklist. Heck, 717 engines take so long to start a significant amount of the time I call for the taxi checklist after the delayed start checklist which I think is what Bucking Bar was alluding to(no rush to get taxi checklist done).
