Here’s some facts on RNP approaches. It has absolutely zero to do with FMGC’s. It’s about money and insurance. When DAL turned on RNP approaches on 320 fleet there was not one item of improvement to any hardware or software. I speak directly to this fact because I worked there during this transition.

When DAL bought 321’s they negotiated the cost of turning on RNP approaches for the fleet. We trained it for over two years waiting for the money end of it to be approved.

HUD’s. I seriously doubt it. There is zero advantage to a HUD with an airplane that has CATIIIB certification. a nice toy on takeoff, maybe, or during a single engine approach, but a waist of money. I flew airplanes with. HUD but it had EVS built in which was really the perfect compliment on an airplane that was Cat I Certified but alllowed you to get down to Cat II mins(no auto land airplane)
