Priceline.com, better prices than most rewards programs. Pretty easy to figure out the crime scenes from the safe places. I have used Extended Stay in West area of Germantown, $60 night, no frills, but clean. Also used Hyatt Express in Germantown on Winchester and Forest Hill Irene, $89 a night, great room, breakfast, decent gym. But, I keep a car in Memphis, makes it a ton easier. Try to buddy with someone that has a car but rarely uses it, helps the car and the frugal pilots.
