All I’m pointing out here is how I was taught and why. When I was taught it, it was considered a standardized thing.
It is standardization. And I've flown with pilots who complain about it...You get the closeout, read the winds off ATIS, compare T/O weights, read other pertinent data from closeout, review actual OAT vs TPS temp, then state whether it is 22/24/26/27K motor or TO1/2 data with DRY/WET. Simple.
Performance Manual, TPS section, or you old hands----paper stock.
