Just a question because a couple of the news reports state that the PLANE automatically sent SOS signals to the Australians due to low fuel state and the crew didn't even know until approach.

As usual the press gets 1/2 of any aviation story completely wrong so was just curious if this was even possible on the 787, that the plane could send an SOS without the crews knowledge.
