This has kind of been addressed, but I still think it needs more input.
I didn't think almost $23,000 (more than $26,000 with PS and DC) was "almost the same." That's without including more days off and better schedules for a significantly higher amount of pay / day and more vacation. Nevermind that a 25 year MD-88 CA has the option of holding much higher paying equipment if desired and is choosing to bid the lower paying equipment, most likely for schedule while the 1 year MD-88 CA is bidding purely pay. A more fair comparison would be a 25 year CA bidding purely pay, who is not going to be on the MD-88.
