Part of the temporary hiring reduction is from the greater than expected success of running the system trip optimizer into the 15th of the following month instead of just optimizing for days 01-31 of this month. It drove a more than 2% reduction in credit time. That translates into a temporary +290 pilot staffing overage, all else being equal.

That info was accurate as of 24hrs ago. It was probably modified significantly in both the 10am and 2pm meetings on the 4th floor today.
